Sign-Up Experiences

Saklan rolls out the red carpet on Saturday, March 21st as we transform our annual auction into a Hollywood-inspired night of stars and show-stopping fun. But why should the excitement end after closing credits?

Keep the spotlight shining by hosting an auction Sign-Up Experience, a hosted event (your donation) where guests “buy a ticket” (their donation) to join the fun, all in support of our amazing school!

How It Works:

Pick a Theme – Will it be a Red Carpet Cocktail Party, Backyard BBQ, Movie Night Under the Stars, Awards-Show Watch Party, or a fun Game Night? 

Set the Premiere Date – Choose any time in 2026 to host your experience.

Assemble Your Cast – Host on your own or team up with friends to share the planning.

Call the Shots – You decide the budget (your donation) and the number of guests. It can be an adults-only affair, a family-friendly outing, or a kid-focused event. It can be simple or more involved - whatever feels doable for you.

What is an Auction Sign-Up Experience?

A Sign-Up Experience is a hosted event you and/or a group of friends organize as part of The Saklan School’s annual auction fundraiser. Guests secure their spot by purchasing a ticket to your event at the auction. Ticket prices vary, and 100% of proceeds go directly to Saklan.

What kind of experience can I host?

Anything you’d enjoy producing! From themed dinners and creative outings to kid-focused or adults-only events, the sky’s the limit. Check out the “Sign-Up Experience Ideas” list below for inspiration.

Who covers the cost of the experience?

As the host, you’re donating to The Saklan School by organizing and funding the event. To share the spotlight and the workload, consider co-hosting with friends or fellow parents. Many experiences can be hosted with minimal expense!

 

Sign-Up Experience Ideas

Below are some ideas for popular family-offered experiences. We hope you are interested in offering one of these or let yourself be inspired with your own idea! 

HOST AN ADULT OR FAMILY PARTY:

  • Game Night – Blackjack, cards, and easy games just for fun.
  • Pickleball & Post-Game Drinks – Friendly matches followed by light refreshments.
  • Hike & Brunch – Group hike followed by a delightful brunch.
  • Murder Mystery Night – A mystery sets the scene, clues appear throughout the night, and everyone has a chance to help crack the case at their own pace.
  • Karaoke Movie Mix – Sing songs from movies and favorites from every era - mocktails or cocktails included!

OFFER A LESSON/WORKSHOP:

  • The Art of Mocktail & Cocktail Making – Learn to mix Gatsby-era drinks with and without alcohol.
  • Charleston Dance Class – Master the famous 1920s dance moves!
  • DIY Floral Arranging Workshop – Create stunning bouquets with a vintage flair.
  • Handmade Pasta Workshop – Fresh pasta, sauces, and a fun night of cooking!
  • Candle-Making Experience – Design luxurious scented candles to take home.

HOST A PARTY FOR KIDS:

  • DIY Ice Cream Parlor Night – Make and decorate custom sundaes!
  • Backyard Movie & S’mores Night – Cozy blankets, outdoor screen, and treats.
  • Glow-in-the-Dark Dance Party – Neon lights, music, and high-energy fun!
  • LEGO Masters Challenge – Kids build, compete, and get creative.
  • Spy Training Academy – Secret missions, obstacle courses, and detective skills!
